NBCCD Annual Fashion Event Promotional Design
InDesign/ Illustrator, 2023
Overview: The New Brunswick College of Craft and Design hosts a major annual fashion event to showcase students' hard work throughout the year. The project involved designing promotional materials that were both visually striking and capable of conveying extensive information. I had to design booklet covering designer’s artist statement.
Objective: To create a visually appealing and information-rich design for the fashion event's promotional materials, maintaining a cohesive and elevated theme across various formats.
Solution: Using a prominent photograph, I drew inspiration from the red hues in the image. By framing the subject in a square and incorporating red lines, I was able to create a dynamic layout that effectively organized a large amount of information without overwhelming the viewer.
Design Approach:
Color and Framing: Pulled the color red from the photograph to create a cohesive and striking design. The subject was framed in a square, allowing for a structured layout.
Dynamic Lines: Used red lines to playfully organize and integrate extensive event information, making it readable and visually appealing.
Cohesive Theme: Extended the design theme to a booklet, table numbers, social media and website materials, and banners, ensuring a consistent and polished look across all platforms.
Outcome: The design was well-received, with the coordinator expressing satisfaction with the final result. The promotional materials successfully conveyed all necessary information in an organized manner, while maintaining an elevated and cohesive aesthetic.
